CURRENTLY LOVING…|MAY

Hello there,

How’s your week going? May has honestly been a blur. I only realized yesterday that Friday is the actual end of the month. How wild? I deleted my Instagram account earlier this month and it feels like I never had Instagram. Life just feels less noisy and my evenings seem to have opened up. I’ll be talking more about why I made that decision in my newsletter. You can subscribe here.

Still, I have a bunch of lovely links to share this month. Without further ado, here’s what I loved in May.

Currently Loving…

Productivity is a major buzzword these days, but my head almost fell off from nodding yes to this post about 11 unproductive habits to quit. I’m guilty of EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Maybe you shouldn’t be so available all the time?

5 Korean-American writers share their creative processes.

Why are Black children missing in stories about the outdoors? I found this piece thought provoking.

Freelancers, here’s how to stay healthy (I know you spend all day erry day on your butt).

I love the Babysitters Club, so this ode to Claudia Kishi makes my heart happy.

Marie shares why she keeps writing book reviews even though they’re the least read posts on book blogs. Yes, the least read. I agree with her reasons and I plan to keep writing reviews for as long as I’m blogging.

I’m currently listening to Jasmine Warga’s middle-grade debut on audio. I love it so much, as I do this essay she wrote about it.

Senator Kamala Harris on being a stepmother.

Did you hear that having books at home improves your literacy — even if you don’t read them?

Enjoy this adorable interview with Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams.

My latest freelancer interview is with (former) freelance journalist, Ayodeji Rotinwa. He shares how he got into freelancing and what his challenges were.

And, one last thing: I’m on Pinterest! Pinning all things books, food, and decor.

How was your month? Any highlights? I’d love to know.

  2. I enjoyed this. I hope you have a better June. I should plan to. I probably need a notebook to write down my thoughts and ideas.
